Based on research, installing energy efficiency measures can increase the value of your home by up to 14%, according to the Government.
Energy Efficiency Measures
We can provide the following energy efficiency measures for your home.
Solid Wall Insulation
Homes with walls of solid brick or stone construction are uninsulated and tend to suffer from increased heat loss. To reduce the heat loss and improve the comfort of your home, insulation is added to the outside or the inside walls.
We will arrange an onsite assessment with you, where we recommend whether your home could benefit from this measure. If so, it will decrease your energy consumption by helping slow down how quickly the heat inside your home escapes to the outside.
Cavity Wall Insulation
Brick built homes with two layers of brick often lose a third of the homes generated heat through the wall. To reduce the heat loss and improve the comfort of your home, insulation is added into your home's wall cavity.
We will arrange an onsite assessment with you, where we recommend whether your home could benefit from this measure. If so, it will decrease your energy consumption by helping slow down how quickly the heat inside your home escapes to the outside.
Loft Insulation
Loft insulation can be fitted as a cost effective way of reducing the heat loss through your roof. It’s normally fitted between the joists/ceiling supports and then across them in your roof space to maximise heat retention.
Loft insulation is fitted to the entirety of the roof space and if necessary, your active tanks or pipes will be insulated to safe-guard against freezing – another added benefit.
Additional measures such as windows, doors, solar PV, battery storage, air source heat pumps, and other associated works may also be available where wall insulation is installed.
Air Source Heat Pumps
An air source heat pump is installed to replace a typical boiler setup or old electric storage heater system. It is referred to as a clean heat technology because it generates warmth at a rate of 300-400% efficiency compared to a standard electrical heating system.
It heats your home through radiators or underfloor heating like a standard boiler system does. You'll also need space for a cylinder tank to provide hot water for taps, showers, and baths.
Solar Panels
Solar panels capture the sun’s energy and convert it into electricity you can use in your home, store in home batteries or return it to the grid. In the latter case energy companies will reimburse you for this under what is known as Smart Export Tariff’s.
By installing solar panels you are taking advantage of free energy, lowering your carbon footprint and becoming a more self-sufficient home.
Battery Storage
Battery storage is a great way to save energy from your solar panels or from the grid to use at a later point in time. Battery technology is improving all the time and the capacity and ability to save energy for when it’s most needed is becoming more commonplace in domestic homes.
When solar panels are installed it’s usually recommended to pair this with a battery storage system to be able to benefit from the excess energy your solar panels produce during daylight hours.
Electric Vehicle Charging
Charging electric vehicles is becoming increasingly commonplace in society. Whether you’ve made the switch to full electrically powered vehicles or you have a plug-in hybrid finding an EV ChargePoint is always a consideration you will have and can sometimes be a bit of a challenge.
We have dedicated teams that can supply and install these home EV ChargePoints and they'll pair well with other renewable technologies and show the world your participating in lowering your carbon footprint.
